8.62 Upgrade (April 19, 2026)
The 8.62 upgrade simplifies navigation by replacing multiple role-based homepages with a single landing page. All tiles a user needs are now in one place, organized into labeled sections that help clarify the purpose of each grouping. The landing page is built with Oracle's Fluid technology, allowing it to adapt smoothly across different screen sizes and devices.
This upgrade also introduces a user ID display on the landing page, making it easy to confirm the correct account is active — particularly useful on public or shared equipment. This addition also directly addresses feedback from students who have had difficulty locating their ID.
Student Landing Page
This view of the landing page will display for KU Students/ Admits.
Faculty Landing Page
This view of the landing page will display for Faculty and Instructors.
Simple Staff Landing Page
Staff landing pages will vary widely depending on their level of access. This image illustrates a simple view-only access version of the landing page.
Staff Navigation Changes
Search bar and right navigation access (including Favorites and Recent Places) are no longer part of the standard user configuration. All necessary access has been moved to tiles, which provides a more consistent and secure experience.Most pages used to review student data can be found on the Student Services Center tile. Alternatively, many pages can be found on the Main Menu tile. (Both tiles can be seen in the adjacent image.)
This is a configuration change rather than an access issue, and it will not be reversed. If you have trouble locating a specific page after reviewing the tiles above, please contact the SIS Security team at cs-security@ku.edu with the page name and we're happy to help.
