Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

 

The privacy of student education records is protected by a federal law known as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). By requesting and being allowed access to student information and records, I understand any records accessed must be held in trust and confidence, and I agree to:
  • Access and use student records only for purposes directly related to my job assignment.
  • Not modify, store or process student records without proper prior authorization from my supervisor.
  • Not disclose student records to unauthorized persons (either verbally or in writing).
  • Report any breach (or suspected breach) of confidentiality or security immediately to your supervisor and/or the Privacy Office.
Use this system in accordance with all policies and procedures set forth by the University located on the Policy Library.
